Translated Title: „Dati prikladnu riječ” — stvari, svijet Ryszarda Kapuścińskog u prijevodu / „To give the proper word” — to thing, the world of Ryszard Kapuściński in translation. Author Name: Paulina Pycia, Instytut Filologii Słowiańskiej Uniwersytet Śląski, paulina.pycia@us.edu.pl. Language: Polish. Issue: 2 (1)/2011. Page Range: 144-160.
Sažetak: Unikatni epski tekstovi Kapuścińskog prikazuju njegov individualni stil koji je velik izazov za sve prevoditelje. Taj članak predstavlja neke od prevodilačkih rješenja u prevodima „Podróże z Herodotem” Ryszarda Kapuścińskog: srpskom „Putovanja s Herodotom” Biserke Rajčić i engleskom „Travels with Herodotus” Klare Główczewske. Analiza odnosi se prije svega na leksičku razinu teksta i metaforička značenja izabranih fraza.
Summary: The unique epic stories written by Kapuściński show his individual style which is the great challenge for all tranlators. This article represents some of the translation solutions in two translations of the Polish reportage Podróże z Herodotem by Ryszard Kapuściński: the Serbian one Putovanja s Herodotom by Biserka Rajčić and the English one Travels with Herodotus by Klara Główczewska. The analysis is connected mostly with the lexical layer and the metaphorical meaning of chosen phrases.
Paulina Pycia: Przekraczając granice. Problem przekładu wulgaryzmów i przekleństw pobierzRozwiń
Translated Title: Prekoračajući granice Pitanje prijevoda psovki i vulgarizama / Crossing the borders Problems of curses and vulgarisms translation. Author Name: Paulina Pycia, Instytut Filologii Słowiańskiej, Uniwersytet Śląski, paulina.pycia@us.edu.pl. Language: Polish. Issue: 2 (1)/2011. Page Range: 135-148.
Summary: In this article the problem of taboo words, defined as curses and vulgarisms, appearing and translating is analysed. The source of investigated taboo words is Vedrana Rudan’s novel titled Uho, grlo, nož and its Polish translation Ucho, gardło, nóż. It’s surprising and interesting that the investigated discourse is basically character’s idiolect — woman’s idiolect. The analysis describes the types of taboo words and expressions and presents various methods of their translation. It proves that vulgarisms occur in the Croatian text more frequently and in the Polish one they are in most cases euphemized or ignored.
Paulina Pycia: Stereotyp kobiety — dramat Sve o ženama Miro Gavrana i jego polski przekład pobierz Rozwiń
Translated Title: Female stereotype — Miro Gavran’s drama Sve o ženama and its Polish translation.
Author Name: Paulina Pycia, Uniwersytet Śląski,
paulina.pycia@us.edu.pl.
Language: Polish.
Issue: 4 (1)/2013.
Page Range: 101-114.
Ključne riječi: ženski stereotip, prijevod, adaptacija, Miro Gavran.
Key words: female stereotypes, translation, adaptation, Miro Gavran.
Summary: In this paper, female stereotypes in Gavran’s drama entitled Sve o ženama (eng. All about women) are analyzed. They are based on generation, society and culture. Comparing the original text of the drama and its Polish translation which is entitled Wszystko o kobietach corroborates the thesis that there are some universal female stereotypes which are created in the world of men. They attribute sensitivity, submissiveness, talkativeness, quarrelsomeness and specific language and social behaviours to women.
